ABOUT

Vishrani Prag is fiercely passionate about empowering, transforming, and advocating for individuals, families, and communities around personal power and mental health, while understanding the various systems and factors that affect our well-being. Vishrani grew up in inner-city NJ to immigrant parents and worked for the opportunity to be educated amongst the country's elites.

 

She studied at Phillips Exeter Academy, a boarding school in NH, and Wesleyan University, where she graduated with two bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Economics. She then received her Masters in Social Work with a 4.0 GPA, concentrating on Violence Against Women and Children. Vishrani quickly saw the power of education and knowledge of self as an equalizer and worked as a Special Ed teacher, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and an NYC education administrator as the Director of Youth Development and Director of Partnerships for the largest alternative school district in USA.

Understanding the impact of culture and passionate about creating transformational learning and discovery opportunities for everyone, she has devised, trained, and implemented therapeutic, client-centered practices for individuals as well as trained social workers and guidance counselors in all 5 boroughs of NYC. Vishrani is passionate about empowering individuals to joy and gratitude while dismantling systems of oppression to revolutionizing mindsets to empower the whole, family and community.

  • Manage program development, training, implementation, and evaluation of new multi-million dollar initiatives in the alternative education, government, workforce, and justice-involved sectors across NYC’s 5 boroughs.

  • Represented NYC at the International School Social Worker Conference in Ghana, Africa and UNICEF in St. Maarten around youth development

  • Created and facilitated Social Emotional Professional  Development for 100+ social workers and counselors for NYC Department of Education and CUNY (City University of New York)

  • Direct therapeutic practice with individuals and families in individual and groups settings with focus on culturally-relevant, trauma-informed, solutions-oriented methodologies
